Kieran Knits by Hélène Driesen
Born from a lifelong love of knitting, Kieran Knits is my way of sharing decades of experience, creativity, and passion. I offer a range of services—from original pattern design and custom knits to teaching classes and workshops, both in person and online. Through Kieran Knits, I aim to inspire, guide, and share the joy of handmade craft.
A Maker and a Mentor
I grew up in the Netherlands, where I learned to knit and sew at a young age as part of my school curriculum. Now living in the United States, I’ve expanded my creative expression with spinning and weaving. Teaching these crafts and passing them along to others is my true passion.
Crafting Across Continents
Since 2018, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching several classes as part of Shetland Wool Week, a renowned international fiber festival in the knitting and creative fiber community. In 2021, when the event was held virtually, I returned as an instructor for three sold-out online classes. I’ve been invited back every year since 2022, offering a mix of new developmental classes and returning favorites—and I’m looking forward to returning again this fall with 5 classes on the schedule.
I also test and sample knits for several top designers and offer pattern translation between English and Dutch. In addition, I’m available for custom knitting projects, guild presentations, and workshops.
