Helene Driesen spent her early life growing up in the Netherlands where she learned to knit and sew at a young age, as part of her school curriculum.
Now living in the US, she has expanded her creative expression with spinning and weaving. Her passion is teaching and passing along to others the methods of these crafts
Since 2018 Helene has taught several classes as part of Shetland Wool Week, a week-long international fiber festival renowned in the knitting and creative fiber community. In 2021 the event was run virtual and she was a returning instructor for three sold-out on-line classes. After Shetland Wool Week was held as a virtual event for two years, she returned in 2022 for the first in-person Wool Week since Covid and is happy to announce that she is returning this fall with a few new classes as well as some old favorites.
She also test and sample knits for several top designers and is available for pattern translation between English and Dutch.
